Energy Management

Energy in retail operations is an important issue for several reasons. One is simply that energy inefficiency is a waste of money and resources. Energy is also important to manage for reducing the environmental impact of store operations, as energy use from fossil fuel sources contributes to air pollution, climate change and other adverse environmental impacts. In addition, retail companies are increasingly setting goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions which require both reducing energy consumption and transitioning to low-emission and renewable energy sources.  And finally, good energy management contributes to a more comfortable space for employees and customers, as well as helping protect merchandise. The RCC’s tools and resources help retail energy managers optimize their programs to reach their goals.
